Dividing mixed fractions - Online Tutoring Dividing mixed fractions can be easily done in few simple steps. We know that mixed fraction is made up of whole number and a fraction. In order to divide mixed fraction they must be converted into improper fraction. The following steps to be followed in dividing mixed fractions.Convert each mixed fraction into improper fraction.Put the reciprocal of the divisor and multiply with the fraction in the numerator.Simplify the answer if possible. Convert the result into mixed fraction if it is an improper fraction Example 1: Divide: 9 by 3 . Solution: First convert mixed fraction into improper fraction 9 = (36 + 1) /4 = 37/4 3 = (6 + 1) /2 = 7/2 9 / 3 = (37/4) / (7/2) Now, reciprocal the divisor and multiply with the numerator fraction 9 / 3 = (37/4) / (7/2) = (37/4)* (2/7) Then multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators (37/4)* (2/7) = 74 / 28 Simplify the answer if possible 74 / 28 = 37/14 This is in improper fraction so convert it into mixed fraction 37/14 = 2 9/14. Example 2: Divide 5 by 1 Solution: Convert the fractions into improper fractions 5 = 11/2 and 1 =7/4 Invert the divisor (7/4) = 4/7 Now multiply with the fraction 11/2, 11/2 * 4/7 = 44 / 14 Simplify it, 44/14 = 22/7 (divide by 2 on both sides) The answer is in improper fraction. So convert it into mixed fraction 22/7 = 3 1/7.

When networking is the least favorite thing to do, all it takes is a tiny kink in the schedule for networking to fall off the list. Sound familiar? Networking can take a lot of time but with some thoughtful planning can be an ongoing, painless process with very little schedule impact. Networking does not have to mean attending every after-work event, or going out for drinks with colleagues. Those activities are great but do take hours of precious time. Here are some simple tips to support networking without calendar stress: Network on the job. Most of the time our job is filled with co-workers, vendors, contractors, and customers. We don’t think about these people but we are all surrounded by a “target rich” environment and don’t always notice. Simply stop each day to spend a bit of time with someone out of the daily flow of work. Put it on your schedule. Sticky notes tend to get ignored and memory is unreliable. Start by scheduling 15 minutes twice a week for networking. This is the same amount of time it takes to get a latte (maybe less). Use lunch and coffee breaks. It is all too easy to get into a rut at work. Use open times to deliberately interact with people at work that is not in the normal workflow contact. The only way to develop a deeper relationship is by spending time and getting to know the other person. Use time-saving communication. Pinging someone in e-mail or a text is a great way of keeping in contact without taking up too much time. It lets the other person know you are thinking of them. Consider forming a group. Ever hear of “Two birds with one stone”? Rather than meeting up with one person at a time, meet with a handful of people at once. A lot of ground can get covered with relationship building in small, hand-picked groups. This is a big time-saver. As an introvert, this is more satisfying because these aren’t strangers; which means you will have a better point of reference for discussion. Also, people who act as connectors are historically more successful. This is a good practice to get into. Expand through existing friends. Rather than the exhausting activity of going to a networking event, start asking friends to make introductions of people they know. The great thing about these connections is that friends will screen people and make introductions they think make sense. It’s a little like a blind date but without the romantic entanglement. Pay attention. In the normal course of a day, we encounter many people we rarely pay attention to. These people could easily expand a network and there is a natural opportunity to build the relationship. An example of this might be going to a place regularly like a local Starbuck or gym. Many people tend to have the same type of habit of frequenting a place at the same time of day. Look around and study people you see. Some of these people could easily become part of your network by paying attention to them and routinely interacting with them. The great thing is, no extra time going somewhere that’s already part of the schedule. With very little effort, the expansion and ongoing nurturing of your network can easily take place. The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation emphasizes the importance of science, health, and education in North Carolina. Food in the United States Its not all Hamburgers and Hotdogs One of my favorite English lessons to give students is about food. We talk about what they eat in their country, and ask what dishes and cuisine they associate with different countries, including Mexico, Japan and the United States.When I ask what food they associate with the United States, they almost always say hamburgers and hotdogs. Or Mcdonalds, or fast food in general. Ive been trying to convince them that there really is a variety of food here, that its not all hamburgers and hotdogs and fast food, but its been hard for me to pin down just what I would call cuisine from the United States.So, rather than try to explain it with words anymore, Im going to start posting a regular series of photos to show people just what it is we eat in the U.S.Heres two I took with my iPhone in the last few weeks:This is the pastry case at my favorite local coffee shop in Whitefish, Montana. I had the chocolate raspberry bread.Brussels sprouts from the local Farmers Market.

Yangon International School Yangon International School Yangon International School is a co-educational private college preparatory school located in a suburb of Yangon, Myanmar. YIS seeks to foster the development of the whole child: one who is academically well prepared, socially responsible, culturally sensitive and personally fulfilled. Yangon International School is a co-educational, private, college preparatory school located in Yangon, Myanmar. The schools driving mission is to foster the development of the whole child: one who is academically well prepared, socially responsible, culturally sensitive and personally fulfilled. YIS is the culminating vision of the owner, U Tin Maung Win, who wanted to create a school with an American curriculum to prepare young people in Myanmar to study overseas. The school opened in the fall of 2004 with 86 students. YIS now has over 560 students from pre-school to grade 12. Most students are Burmese nationals, although the student body grows more international as Yangon becomes more cosmopolitan. The first class graduated in 2009. YIS is located on two beautifully landscaped campuses. YIS facilities are modern and include an air-conditioned gym, swimming pool, playgrounds and a nine-story instructional building as well as an early childhood campus. There are multiple IT labs and Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. In addition, there is a spacious library, three science labs, a large multi-purpose room, a performing arts floor, a fitness center, and four art rooms. Construction has begun on a new, state of the art addition. As the school has grown, more high school courses have been added, including 12 Advanced Placement courses, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and ESL. Through grades 2 to 10, students take the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests. The PSAT is required in grade 11. All seniors in grade 12 take the SAT. There are 56 certified foreign teachers mostly from the United States, as well as from Canada, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand; two guidance coun selors; two ESL teachers; a Myanmar Studies department; and a staff of teaching assistants. Many teachers have advanced degrees and several years of teaching experience. Yangon International School has been awarded a Six Year Accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school has a continuous review cycle to ensure that the accreditation standards and recommendations are met. Yangon International School will be hiring for the following positions for the upcoming school year: Biology and 8th Science Teacher This position includes two sections of 8th Science, two sections of 9th biology, and one section of AP Biology. AP Biology training and experience preferred - otherwise the school will support training. Elementary Counselor The elementary counselor will be responsible for all counseling needs of the pre-school to grade 5 school. Character education classes are scheduled. This position is responsible for monitoring the special needs of students. Grade 4 Teacher Grade 4 classroom teacher. Class size is approximately 15-18 students. A teaching assistant would be available if the class size reaches 20 students. The school has an American curriculum. Grade 5 Teacher Typical grade 5 classroom using an American curriculum. HS Physics This position may begin in January, 2017. There are three classes of physics and two classes at the AP level. MS IT Teacher Middle School IT classes. Currently, this teacher is doing yearbook as a class as well.
